Occupational Therapist for Home Health – Montgomery County, MD

We are seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist to join a well-established small homecare company in a close-knit, family-oriented work environment. You will work with clients who have returned home from the hospital, aiding in their recovery from surgery and other medical conditions.
Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with 25-30 field visits per week. Most sessions are completed by 3 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical and psychological evaluations of clients and develop or follow treatment plans.
- Assess home and work environment of clients and decide what adjustments are needed.
- Advise on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
- Develop physical rehabilitation programs to assist clients with daily activities.
- Educate caregivers and family of clients on patient care.
- Apply knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Evaluate patients’ condition regarding physical and basic mental health.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by ACOTE or AOTA.
- 2-3 years of experience.
- Certification by the National Board of Certification.
- State of Maryland licensure, compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Comfortable with technology and use of iPad for various tasks.
- CPR certification.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must have own equipment (Client can assist, depending on any special patient needs).
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
