Occupational Therapist for Home Health – Montgomery County, MD

We are seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist to join a well-established small homecare company in a close-knit, family-oriented work environment. You will work with clients who have returned home from the hospital, aiding in their recovery from surgery and other medical conditions.

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with 25-30 field visits per week. Most sessions are completed by 3 pm.

 Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical and psychological evaluations of clients and develop or follow treatment plans.
  • Assess home and work environment of clients and decide what adjustments are needed.
  • Advise on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
  • Develop physical rehabilitation programs to assist clients with daily activities.
  • Educate caregivers and family of clients on patient care.
  • Apply knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Evaluate patients’ condition regarding physical and basic mental health.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by ACOTE or AOTA.
  • 2-3 years of experience.
  • Certification by the National Board of Certification.
  • State of Maryland licensure, compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Comfortable with technology and use of iPad for various tasks.
  • CPR certification.
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have own equipment (Client can assist, depending on any special patient needs).
  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
