Full Time – Day Shift (M-F 8am-4:30pm, no weekends)

Essential Job Duties:

  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and their families to facilitate lifestyle modifications, follow up care, medications, patient education on device functions, remote device transmission, in-clinic visits and other clinic care needs.
  • Responds to urgent/emergency clinical situations, assists with answering phones, follows up on medical questions, medication inquiries, assessing and interpreting lab results, and updating the MSDS binder as needed.
  • Evaluate and monitor patient vitals, especially cardiovascular readings, and any heart related devices such as pacemakers and loop recorders.
  • Follows nursing process in assessing symptomatic patients and providing follow-through as needed such as discussing with Physicians, giving instructions to patients, making follow-up appointments, or advising patients go to ED. Triages patients for remote alert notifications.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

 Requires a BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing,

  • Two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in cardiology, cardiac nursing and/or Primary Care preferred.
  • Experience with implantable devices and knowledge of device functionality, arrhythmias and internal electrograms preferred.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas within 90 days of hire: implantable devices, device functionality, arrhythmias and internal electrograms.

Required License/Certifications:

  • Current Maryland Board of Nursing license.
  • 4CPR through the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers level).
  • EP Device Certificate (i.e. Metronics) or must obtain within 90 days of hire

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands –

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.50 – $61.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

  • 90% Admin
  • Training is 1 month

Triage

  1. Phone calls coming in through my chart
  2. Calling patients f/u with test results
  3. Scheduling procedures, documenting, communicating Do’s and Don’ts, time and date of procedure, call cath lab to get time and date,
  4. Send emails to the group not just one manager or nurse- so everyone can be included in case someone is out.
  5. Device check/ pace makers, etc (they do provide training)
  • They have 2 nurses and they get slammed, so they need help
  • For Procedures EP’ Cardiologist, Inpatient cardiologist, 3 noninvasive cardiologists.
  • They doctor Love to educate people and love their patients

1.Form gets filled out for the procedure

  1. Schedule Or time
  2. Call patient start prior authorization asap
  • Clinic once a week to f/u on procedures, wound checks, etc
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand or are not sure.
